Delivery FAQs

Metal Supermarkets makes it easy to get the metal you need. In addition to free collection from any of our 8 stores across the UK, we offer a variety of fast and convenient delivery options with competitive delivery pricing.

Delivery Charges

We like to keep things simple, so we offer £15 delivery for orders being delivered within England, Wales or Central Scotland. And if your order exceeds £100 (excluding VAT), delivery is FREE!

Of course, metal can be big and heavy so there are some exceptions, but your store trucks can usually accommodate most orders.

When will my order be delivered?

With 8 stores across the UK, most products available for purchase on our website are in stock, and the majority of our orders are dispatched for delivery on the next working day. For standard delivery to Mainland England, Wales, and Central Scotland, please allow up to 5 working days.

Occasionally, if we are awaiting stock of an item delivery or have to do a lot of preparation work, like cutting, delivery may be extended by a few days. If delivery of your order is going to be delayed longer than this, one of our customer service staff will contact you with the details. We work hard to not have to make those calls!

Can I specify a date and time for my delivery?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an email with the estimated completion date. This is the date your order will be cut and ready for collection at your local store, be out for delivery on one of our store trucks or when this has been sent on our third-party courier. (Please note, courier deliveries should be next day. For courier deliveries in Scotland, please allow an extra 2-3 business days for delivery.

If you are within one of our store truck zones and have opted for a “Local Store Truck” delivery, please call or email your local branch to request a date and time for delivery once you have received the email with your estimated completion date.

If you require a specific delivery date through our third party courier service, please contact us for a quotation cost as additional charges may apply depending on the weight and length of the order and where the order is being delivered to.

Can I collect my order?

Absolutely! You are always welcome to collect your order from one of our 8 friendly locations using our FREE collection service that can be selected at the checkout. You will receive an email when your order is ready to be collected.

Our store opening hours are Monday to Friday 07:00 – 17:00 & Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00. On arrival, please come in to the trade counter and one of the team will be happy to help you.

Same Day Orders

If you need the order same day, then please give us a call before placing the order online.

Some other things to note:

• Sheet product may arrive on a pallet to protect your order. Please ensure you have the necessary equipment or personnel available to assist with removing this from the delivery vehicle as necessary.
• If the contents of your parcel are for installation on site, we recommend you schedule time to receive and check the products if delivered by courier. We do our best but cannot be held responsible or liable for any losses, damages, charges, compensation or expenses as a result of any delivery delay or damage to the product.
• Please note steel can be heavy. If you are collecting your order, remember that many vehicles are not designed or capable to carry these types of goods. Please ensure you have suitable means of securing items safely and are satisfied that the means of transporting the goods is both safe and legal.
