Current Open Positions:

Delivery Driver

Glasgow (Govan)

You will be part of our team in the Metal Supermarkets Govan Store. You will deliver customer orders, collect supplies, unload/load product, general warehouse work, etc. Deliveries/collections will be carried out in a 3.5 tonne drop-side truck for which a full manual driving licence is required. This role involves loading and unloading metal at customer and supplier locations. It is a physically active role, ideal for someone who enjoys a practical job and doesn’t mind keeping busy and on the move. Within this role you will be expected to provide help and cover for absence in the warehouse to prepare customer orders ie cutting metal, drilling holes, put away stocks, etc. Training will be provided including obtaining an FLT Licence if needed.

Primary Driving Responsibilities:

• Small quantity metal deliveries to local industrial/manufacturing client base while maintaining a superior level of customer service
• Assist in the preparation of orders ready for despatch, load/unload vehicle, etc
• Pick up larger orders from suppliers
• Work in a safe environment
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Complete other tasks as required
• Frequent lifting is part of this role

Assistance to be provided in the warehouse/production:

• Collect metal from the Warehouse to prepare customer orders to exact specifications by cutting, folding, drilling etc using various machines such as saws, hydraulic guillotine, etc
• Receive, identify and stock incoming materials and assist in maintenance of equipment
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, ensure warehouse is clean and organized

Qualifications/Experience:

• 1 year of previous delivery driving experience
• Valid driver’s license (Manual) Category B
• Ability to accurately use measuring instruments – ie tape measure and calipers
• Physically able to frequently lift/move metal product weighing up to 25kg
• Motivated and enthusiastic team member who is reliable, with good timekeeping and attendance
• Ability to work well under pressure, on your own initiative, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Excellent customer relationship skills
• Excellent English communication skills both verbally and written
• GCSE or equivalent qualification/experience in Maths and English

The following are beneficial but not essential:

• Metal and metal related product knowledge
• Computer skills – MS office, etc
• Forklift certified with experience

What we offer:

• Wage £12.75/hr equivalent to £27,846 pa plus bonus as below:
• You receive a guaranteed bonus of £1200 in your first year! You can earn more than this as our Annual On Target Incentive = £2400.
• Additional pension contributions/holiday options offered after 2 years.
• Full uniform provided including boots
• Shifts are Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm and an additional shift every second Saturday from 8:00am – 12:00pm
• Working 40 hours per week and 44 hours every second week with the Saturday hours

Trade Sales Counter Representative

Manchester (Trafford Park)

Metal Supermarkets is the world’s leading small quantity metal distributor. Our Stores offer a wide variety of metal types, shapes and related services … and we do this fast! Metal Supermarkets Stores serve a wide and diverse range of Business customers and the general public.

We need a sales target smashing Trade Sales Counter Representative with excellent sales and customer service skills. You will be a first point of contact for our customers in our Metal Supermarkets Trafford Park Store working face to face, via email, ecommerce or over the phone. With our comprehensive training program to help with skills and metal knowledge you will offer help and advice to customers, process their orders through to delivery, liaise with suppliers, etc.

Working within a team environment you will focus on sales targets and conduct yourself in a professional manner conducive to generating a team attitude toward maintaining effective customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use sales skills to reach and excel sales targets
• Provide superior customer service and a high level of customer satisfaction
• Build new and maintain current customer relationships through efficient quote management, order processing, sales, providing customer updates, managing delivery and stock requirements, etc
• Organise some purchases to ensure delivery and stock requirements are met
• Working within your team you will assist with some material handling and metal processing to ensure we deliver outstanding customer service
• Perform other duties as directed by the Assistant or Store Manager

Qualifications/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

• Possess strong sales skills, a passion for sales, and, strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with the use of computers
• One year of sales experience, ideally in Trade Sales, providing help and assistance to customers, meeting targets, good teamwork, organised, reliable, good timekeeping, etc.
• One year of customer support experience processing customer orders, and handling quotes, queries, etc
• Self-motivated with an acumen for sales targets and providing great customer satisfaction
• Trade sales counter experience would be an advantage
• Metal and metal related product knowledge are a benefit but not essential

What’s in it for you?!!

• Wage £13.75/hr equivalent to £30,030 pa plus bonus as below:
• You receive a guaranteed bonus of £1,800 in your first year! Our Annual On Target Incentive = £2,400 although you can earn more than this as it is uncapped, the more the Store beats target the more you earn!!
• Additional pension contributions/holiday options offered after 2 years.
• Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm, plus you will be required to work 4 hours every second Saturday from 8:00am – 12:00pm
• Uniform provided including boots
